Thank you to all who attended Tknika’s stand in the BIEMH – Bienal Internacional de Máquina – Herramienta last week. A space to share how Vocational education can collaborate with companies in the research&innovation ecosystem #AIRINVET @IMH @AFM

A pleasure to meet you all and looking forward to working together.

The Biennial Machine Tool Exhibition (BIEMH), held in Bilbao from 3 to 7 June 2024, has established itself as Spain’s most important industrial event. The fair has exceeded all expectations in terms of occupancy, visitors, business contacts, and business opportunities. The 32nd BIEMH shone with an impressive display of Advanced and Digital Manufacturing technologies in its six pavilions. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the latest innovations in machine tools, 3D printing equipment, various components, and the most advanced cutting tools. In addition, solutions were offered for digitising, automating, and robotising processes and services, which filled the halls of the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) with life and movement during the five days of the event.

Within this innovation and technological development framework, the AIRINVET project had a prominent presence. AIRINVET, which focuses on Applied Innovation and Research in Vocational Education and Training, has as its main objective to boost European economic competitiveness and support the green and digital transition. This ambitious project is dedicated to promoting innovation and applied research in vocational education and training, specifically for SMEs and industry in general.

During the BIEMH, three of the project partners, TKNIKA, IMH, and AFM CLUSTER had their own booths where they could show visitors the various activities that each entity carries out. Taking advantage of the influx of visitors, each partner held an event at its stand to publicise the AIRINVET project and show its main results.

On Friday 7th June, TKNIKA held an event at its stand where the applied innovation system of the Basque Government’s education department was showcased. This presentation highlighted how innovation in vocational training can boost competitiveness and sustainable development in the region.
