After months of thrilled teamwork to lead the most important TVET congress worldwide, we are sad to announce that on account of the consequences resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) World Congress will not be held this year.

It is a difficult decision for all the organisation committee -Tknika, the Association of Colleges and the WFCP-, and it has been made taking into consideration the health of all of us, facing the uncertainty whether or not the health crisis will have ended by October.

We would like to thank everyone who supported us. To the Tknika team, whose efforts have been remarkable. To all those TVET professionals on national and international level who have shown us their backing in the congress being held in San Sebastian. Tknika has faced with thrill the challenge to bring together the main international TVET leaders and to share with all the congress participants the Basque TVET system.

The proposals presented for the excellence awards are already being assessed and the calls for proposals for the Affinity Groups and the Breakout Sessions are still open, until the 30th of April. We will use the official channels to inform you how these sessions and awards will take place.

We regret that after all the effort that has been made during the last months; we have been forced to make an unwanted decision in the face of a situation without precedent.  Despite current circumstances, we are working hard to continue with everything that has already been done, keeping the energy and effort alive; we are really looking forward to making it a reality in the 2022 congress, which we hope to see in San Sebastián. Meanwhile we encourage you all to keep working and innovating in favour of TVET excellence, even under these circumstances.

Good health to all, and of course, see you at the WFCP 2022 Congress!
