 In Internationalisation

How do we push forward and reach new territories?

In the Netherlands and in Horizon College innovation and internationalisation are strategic partners: Internationalisation is a logical consequence of the internationally oriented history of business and the service sector in the Netherlands and the focus on the European Union. Internationalisation also contributes to a higher goal: to take society further and further by supporting developments in the field of sustainability and new technologies. Vision Horizon College on internationalisation 2021-2027

Which are the innovation and internationalisation trends?  In this second summit, we could discuss the collaboration between companies and schools in field labs, and see examples of how companies and Horizon College work together to innovate education and introduce the latest technology in their curriculum. All we’ve seen has had an impact, especially seeing gaming and gamers from a professional perspective, from an educational point of view, and also from a business point of view.

We also had the input from experts in the internationalisation concept.

The model shown by Marc van der Meer, introduced three dimensions, first, the creation process of educational instruction, second, three dimensions of reflection in learning and work processes. And third, the documentation of the skill formation in terms of competency-development. We could all see our organisations reflected somehow and agreed on the necessity of “reflection” and “documentation”, as we reached the same conclusions probably from different routes 🙂 In fact, the innoVET project itself is working in the reflection and documentation part of innovation and internationalisation in these summits.

The internationalisation practoraat representatives run a workshop on the internationalisation@home concept. It was interesting to see how though we agreed on the concept of Internationalisation whilst discussing during the workshop different understandings of the concept arose. This shows us we are on the right track, as we are going from general to detailed concepts.

There were many interaction opportunities but the “market” was a very interesting initiative to highlight what each organisation can offer and is looking for.

The international coordinator from Meka Elgoibar has taken part in this second summit.
