Between April 27th and May 4th, a 16h course on characterization of carbon fiber and glass fiber specimens by Phased Array ultrasound was given in Tknika. The course was attended by 8 teachers from different vocational training centers in the Basque Country, centers that have access to the necessary equipment to perform this type of analysis, both in metals and other materials. Phased Array technology is used for example in the aeronautical and wind energy sector to detect defects in composite materials such as delaminations, missing adhesion, inclusions, voids, … The machine parameters to be used with these materials and the type of signal obtained are different from those of metal. During the course, these particularities have been emphasized and put into practice what has been learned. As a result of the project, the related didactic material will be published by the end of the course, which would be downloaded from Tknika’s website.
