On June 16 and 17, SkillAIbility project members travelled to Leuven, Belgium, to represent Tknika at a key European event for the SKillAIbility project, part of Horizon Europe.
Hosted in the historic university city of Leuven, the meeting brought together partners from across Europe to discuss progress, share experiences, and coordinate next steps in this ambitious initiative. SKillAIbility aims to support the transition to Industry 5.0 by developing inclusive, human-centered approaches to skills development in the manufacturing sector.
During the sessions, Ion Hernández Nogal presented Tknika’s contributions to the project, with a particular focus on vocational education and training (VET) methodologies, the development of Learning Factory environments, and strategies for co-designing training solutions with workers and vulnerable groups.
The event also served as an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration with other European members as Universities, research centers, competence hubs, and industry associations involved in SKillAIbility. Discussions focused on aligning methodologies, sharing best practices, and ensuring the project delivers practical, scalable outcomes for Europe’s manufacturing workforce.
Representing the Basque VET system at this European forum reinforces Tknika’s commitment to innovation, inclusion, and international collaboration. Participation in projects like SKillAIbility ensures that the Basque Country remains at the forefront of efforts to prepare workers for the challenges and opportunities of digital and sustainable transitions.
