Last week, Tknika participated in an event organized by Neth-ER, MBO Raad, Nuffic, and the Vereniging Hogescholen as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels. The workshop focused on the workings of regional innovation ecosystems and the power of collaboration between VET (Vocational Education and Training) and HE (Higher Education) partners, and offered valuable insights into how these partnerships can drive regional growth and innovation.

Pili Alonso, Director of the Applied Innovation in Strategic Environments area at Tknika, represented the organization during the event. The program opened with an inspiring keynote speech by Martijn van Gruijthuijsen, a member of the European Committee of the Regions and a representative of the Province of Noord-Brabant. He highlighted the importance of building strong regional innovation ecosystems through collaboration between various stakeholders.

Following the keynote, Tknika, alongside Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Learning Hub Friesland, and NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, presented their respective ecosystems in a series of pitches. These organizations showcased their work in projects such as AIRinVET, E3EUDRES2, PoVE Water, and RUN-EU, demonstrating the critical role of VET and HE cooperation in these initiatives.

The event continued with an engaging panel discussion that explored the dynamics of these regional ecosystems, their impact on innovation, and the importance of a multi-stakeholder approach. The panel offered attendees a deeper understanding of how collaboration between educational institutions and other partners can lead to more effective and sustainable outcomes.

To close the workshop, participants were allowed to network, fostering connections that will contribute to the ongoing development of these collaborative innovation ecosystems.

Tknika is proud to have been part of such a significant event, contributing to the ongoing conversation around the role of VET in driving innovation and building strong regional ecosystems across Europe.
