Tknika has welcomed a group of Lebanese teachers working with Palestinian refugee youth, in a meeting presided over by the Minister of Education, Begoña Pedrosa, with the participation of Deputy Minister for VET, Jon Labaka, and Tknika’s Executive Director, Pili Alonso.
The visit is part of an international cooperation programme by the Basque Government’s Department of Education and eLankidetza, in collaboration with UNRWA, aiming to modernize VET in Lebanon and create new opportunities for vulnerable youth.
During their stay, the Lebanese educators visited several VET centres in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa and learned about the work of Tknika and iTlent, institutions recognised for innovation and active methodologies such as ETHAZI. They also engaged in exchanges with teaching teams and students, with a focus on inclusion.
The project includes updating curricula and equipment, training management and teaching teams, designing programmes in high-demand sectors, and strengthening links with local companies. The initiative has a budget of 500,000 euros, co-financed by the Department of Education and eLankidetza.
Minister Pedrosa highlighted “the confidence that the Basque VET model generates internationally” and stressed that Euskadi shares its knowledge “to improve employability and contribute to the well-being and dignity of refugee people.”
