GBS St. Gallen (Switzerland) organized the fifth teacher academy of the InnoVET project in March. In addition to teachers from different European educational centers, teachers from Usubilgo LHII and Tolosaldea LHHI participated in it.

The starting point of this academy was to learn about the Swiss educational system and, in particular the dual vocational training system (visiting the schools and the company Stadler Rail AG).

Over the following days, various workshops and activities delved into entrepreneurship and internationalization, exploring perspectives from both students and teachers.

Among other things, we had a workshop on the “myidea” program, aimed at developing the entrepreneurial skills of vocational training students. Then a dynamic where we were divided into international groups. This involved group work to conceive and present ideas for international vocational training projects, fostering diverse perspectives and stimulating reflection.

The agenda also included discussions on internationalization, featuring an enlightening workshop on intercultural awareness. Participants explored the significance of cultivating intercultural competence in increasingly diverse classrooms.

Lastly, educational centers shared their initiatives to facilitate international exchanges and mobility, as well as to train students and teachers in internationalization efforts.

Looking ahead, the next teachers’ academy is scheduled for May in Newcastle.
