EUPiH 3rd learning event in Denmark

From September 19 to 23 the third learning event “Hydroponic farming & entrepreneurship” of the project was held in Denmark, led by the Vocational Training Center Roskilde Tekniske VET College, a few kilometers from Copenhagen. It has been attended by the Agricultural School of Derio and Tknika.
Roskilde Tekniske VET College offers cycles of 6 professional families of Food, Agriculture, and Hospitality and more than twenty cycles of Technology.
During the event, we visited the hydroponics companies in the area (Nordik Harvest, Nabofarm, and Refarm) and a representative of Tetra-farm, a company that produces therapeutic Cannabis, showed us the different hydroponics systems currently used for the cultivation of this plant with medicinal properties.
As for visits, Nordik Harvest is the largest Vertical Farm in Europe. Located in the industrial park in Taastrup, the company is dedicated to the production of leafy green vegetables on 16-17 levels, using the most innovative technology and renewable energies to obtain water and food in the most efficient way.
Refarmed produces value-added vegetables in hydroponics. The aim of this urban garden is to shorten the distance between the producer and the consumer as short as possible.
Finally, Nabofarm, located in Copenhagen, produces shoots, herbs and leafy greens in a company building in the heart of Copenhagen and explained how the process of obtaining shoots and the benefits and challenges of urban farms.
