Tknika celebrates 20 years of innovation in Vocational Education and Training in the Basque Country
Tknika has marked its 20th anniversary with an institutional event held at its facilities in Errenteria, presided over by the Minister of Education, Begoña Pedrosa, together with the centre’s director, Pili Alonso, and the Deputy Minister of Vocational Education and Training, Jon Labaka. Nearly ninety representatives from VET centres and collaborating organisations took part in the event, which included a photographic exhibition highlighting two decades of activity and a guided tour of Tknika’s spaces and facilities.

Two decades driving the transformation of Basque VET
Over the past twenty years, Tknika has become a strategic hub where education, industry and society converge. Its work has strengthened a VET system that is innovative, flexible and capable of anticipating technological and social challenges, positioning the Basque Country as an international benchmark.

A system aligned with the Basque VET Strategy 2030
Minister Pedrosa highlighted Tknika’s contribution to the Basque VET Strategy 2030, which will guide the evolution of the system through the pillars of talent, digitalisation, sustainability, innovation and internationalisation. This strategy will mobilise over 325 million euros, reinforcing the institutional commitment to the region’s economic and social progress.

A shared acknowledgment
Tknika wishes to recognise and thank all the attendees and everyone who contributes daily to the progress of the centre.

A special acknowledgement is extended to all VET centres of the Basque Country, whose commitment has been essential to achieving international recognition.
Recognition is also due to all directors who have led Tknika, providing vision and dedication throughout these twenty years.
Likewise, Tknika acknowledges the individuals who have led Vocational Education and Training from the Department of Education, whose leadership has been key to building a strong and innovative system.
