In a rapidly changing world, where fundamental transformations are urgently needed to preserve (human) life on the planet, learners are in need of different sets of skills: not only to fulfil the requirement of future (green) jobs but also, to contribute to a socially, economically- and environmentally-just society. Our project addresses the growing need for professionals with Green Skills required to successfully participate in the emerging green economy. We aim to contribute to sustainable development by building inclusive, market-driven Vocational Education and Training (VET) education and enhancing green skills and capacities of VET organizations in Ecuador and Colombia. We address the needs and gaps of SECAP’s and Fundación Colombia Incluyente’s (CI) by developing an Inclusive Green Skills curriculum [Objective 2]. We build the skills and knowledge of the VET organizations, enabling them to successfully deliver the Inclusive Green Skills Curriculum [Objective 3]. We aim to improve the institution’s’ linkages with the private and public sector [Objective 4] and respond to youth’s different needs and priorities in each country’s context, but also via a regional effort. We will learn about the processes in the two countries for two distinct types of local partners – a public institution (SECAP) and a CSO (CI) – to facilitate mutual learning and knowledge sharing. Our aim is to share our knowledge and resources with a wider audience, enabling VET institutions in Latin America, Europe, and globally to benefit from our experience, promoting scalability and sustainability [Objective 5]. Our project is aligned with EU values, and with various policies and strategies promoting a green transition and a sustainable inclusive economy. It supports the development of a new generation of workers with skills necessary for a circular economy, and it contributes to removing socioeconomic barriers to women in business, fostering a more innovative and inclusive knowledge economy.
