Tribolab 4.0 proposes automating the operations of a tribology laboratory using a collaborative robotic cell that integrates assay monitoring, specimen handling, transport to an analysis station (digital macroscopic analyzer, balance, 3D scanner, or similar), and automatic parameter recording, using machine vision, artificial intelligence, and event-driven control. This not only increases laboratory productivity but also generates real-world automation scenarios that allow students to directly participate in the design, implementation, and validation of industrial processes.
