The first teacher academy within the project “InnoVET – innovation through internationalization (Swiss CoVE) was organized by BBS Wilhelmshaven (Germany) in November. It was attended by teachers from the European partners and from the Basque Country teachers from Usurbil LHII, Miguel Altuna LHII and Armeria Eskola LHII.

This first meeting had as its starting point the presentation of the different schools and their projects (both in the context of innovation and internationalization). Once the presentations were over, the importance of internationalization and the cooperation of the different institutions was discussed.

Afterward, a workshop on innovation was held. A sharing of what it means to innovate in the school, what requirements must be met in order to innovate, and what can help when implementing innovation.

In the different conferences organized by BBS Wilhelmshaven, it was possible to see the different tools or methods they use, such as the innovation truck, gamification or E-learning, as well as a visit to IHJO Oldenburg to see its innovation laboratory. In addition, we were able to see the seaport of Wilhelmshaven and also visit the city through the game of Geocaching with the students of the center.

The first teachers’ academy ended with the explanation of the dual system in Germany and with the hope of being able to create cooperative ties with the other partners.

The next teacher academy will take place in the Netherlands in May.
